When contemporary artists attempt to create spirituality-themed work, the outcome is often kitsch and downright bad; however, Darren Waterson's paintings and prints are an exception. His fauna series is otherworldly with its translucent, organic, hazy, layered forms. He works in a variety of mediums including oil and watercolor among other more unusual materials such as resins and tree sap.

The images speak for themselves, absolutely beautiful pieces of art and there's something so unique about his style that I just really admire. Some of his work has been used by Silversun Pickups on their album artworks.
