I absolutely am devoted to BoC, have never looked for them on YouTube though. Never thought to bump into them on Hunch, but makes sense. Deep nostalgia. At heart, I am a planetarium projector from the 1970s.
wow, I was -already- listening to this song when I scrolled to this rec. weird! this whole album is absolutely brilliant, as is basically everything they've done.
It sure is...Why? Or why ask why - just enjoy? I love how their genre is theirs alone. I have Geogaddi but like it less, maybe because of the guitar tracks, I think the moody, swishy synth is more evocative and thoughtful. "Music has the Right to Children" might be my favorite.
Boards of Canada completely redefined electronic music. When everyone was going digital, they favoured old, analogue, reverb slapped synths to create their warm sound. It's the kind of music you'd watch a sunrise to.
