Some of this doesn't hold up but a shocking amount of it does. The 70s style hyper-naturalism in certain scenes (especially between Dunaway and Holden) feel far more new than most contemporary films. Ned Beatty's rant on "primal forces" is overlooked and some of the best writing in film. It stands toe-to-toe with the famed "mad as hell..."
A brilliant movie that talks about the enslavement of humankind through the Tele-vision. Everything that comes out of that tube is "our" reality. It talks about how the corporations and money govern the world today. A must watch.
A sensational and practically flawless satire that's essential viewing for anyone interested in media. One of the best Sidney Lumet films, too--and considering what else he's directed, that's really saying something.
