I recently joined Klout and scored a 10. In a world of 7 billion, I'd have thought a newbee would be closer to a 1. I don't tweet, which this seems heavily biased towards so my score is unlikely to go up. Hunch seems more "useful" to me, but I'm not a heavy user of this either. At least it's more than just a score and the promise of "free" perks. Time will tell.
Have you ever "earned" / deserved any perks. If no, why does it matter what your score is day to day. It should only matter if you're trending up or down over time (quarter or year). It seems like this is another "cow-click" game activity for most.
I'm not sure if it's measuring activity or influence - not the same thing. It seems more the former than the latter. Hence the earlier comment about tweeting to random general hashes (#'s).
