Sedaris' first work–got him discovered. About his time working as an elf in Macy's Santaland. It is, without a doubt, the best humor writing I have ever read. My favorite of all his work. Here he reads it aloud, as he does every year, on NPR's holiday broadcast. Abridged to 7 minutes, but the full version is also linked on This American Life. Listen to it!
