This is one record that everyone should own. The chances of it having influenced at least three bands you adore is quite high. Made in 1977, when a punk band could get Robert Mapplethorpe to shoot their album cover for cheap. When I first got to Buenos Aires three years ago, I was shocked to discover Television had a rabid following down here.

Where my screen name comes from, and possibly my favorite song. One of the most underrated and obscure bands to come out of the New York underground of the 1970's, this band's magnum opus, Marquee Moon, doesn't contain a single bad song. Listen.
