Sprinkles' red velvet is my favorite cupcake. Better than Magnolia's imo because Sprinkle's frosting is not oversweet. Get some with a cool glass of milk. There is always a 15 minute queue at Sprinkles out the door at their original Beverly Hills location (though they're now also in NYC and Chicago) but always worth the wait.

We have one in DC now too. In fact, we have an order set up for Friday. I'm interested in knowing what they taste like. We've also got Georgetown Cupcake here amongst many others, so I wonder how Sprinkles measures up...

hope it measures up! frosting not oversweet but still creamy, cake is springy and soft, and i don't hate myself after eating one.

great recommendation, hugo. i've been looking for a new cupcake bakery for special events. magnolia bakery hasn't been doing it for me for quite a few years (as in, not since the Sex & The City hype).
