What I once believed was a potent and hilarious anti-war film is, upon a recent viewing, actually, and probably inadvertently, a powerful neo-conservative piece of propaganda. I don't know why, but that somehow made the film mean more to me, because it now challenged my own value system, and isn't that what art's supposed to do? Context changed the film's meaning.
@beckett13 you raise some points that make me think of all those private contractors we paid to run wild in Iraq. For me, I think what we've learned about those characters would really color this movie were I to re-watch it. Interesting stuff
