I mistakenly spent $10 on 2 sticks of butter the other day. After going home and trying it I understand why it's so expensive. It was so good! You can get it at Eataly in the Flatiron District. Highly recommended if you want to impress your dinner party guests. According to their website "It's so good that it can even be eaten on its own".

yeah, i was curious about some artisan sea salt butter from a vermont dairy and i'm now a converted man. excellent butter is definitely worth it, though i wouldn't cook or bake with it (pricey), best to use it sparingly when the flavor will be able to really come through (on bread, crackers, potatoes, steak, etc.)

I'm almost sure /cmercando has fallen victim to a cognitive bias, probably a post-purchase rationalization ;) Is there an expert in the house?

If you're going to throw down on some high-end butter, you should buy a fancy butter crock for it as well: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000BOWWZQ/

Definitely saved. Good butter is a nice indulgence for oneself.

Any minute now, Paula Deen will show up and buy up the whole store.
