Masters of the brooding rhythm, founders of the Bristol Sound. Massive Attack create sonic landscapes from synths and vintage soul/funk samples that sound both enormous and restrained. Their melancholy yet uplifting sound is complemented by collaborating with some of the best vocalists around. Electronic but never robotic, it's the human element to Massive Attack's dark groove that appeals most.
