Atlas Shrugged: Part I

Pros: Pretty scenery; lots of art deco feel.
Cons: Doesn't convey either side of Rand's philosophy well (no depth). Wooden acting (mostly), but that's not unlike the wooden book characters. Reminded me of being young and full of myself. Too bad they won't have the same actors for part 2. I think it'll make the series even more disjointed than a normal sequel. We'll see...

I liked it a lot. Even though the movie is set in the future, it had the feel of a movie made in the 1950's or 1960's. I hope they come through with Part 2, because I need to know "Who is John Galt"?

Did not disappoint. The usual caveats about translating from book to movie apply; but the story is intact, and many of the characters remain vivid exemplars. The low budget barely distracts. I accept the Battlestar Galactica-production quality in exchange for the independence the producers apparently received in return.
