Launches apps, searches for files, shortens workflows, lets you set system wide shortcuts, Apple Script compatible.
I am a LaunchBar customer too, but its powerful functions are badly documented. Alfred is the champion of simplicity and usability. You can't go wrong if you cherish your time, want to invest your energy in something else than repeating workflows and on top of all it is a beauty.

The best incarnation of Spotlight/Quicksilver that I have seen to date. Wonderfully scriptable and extremely simple to use.
