Pretty good substitute for an SLR. Nice size makes it much easier to carry. Pretty rugged body and easy to use. Other pluses: fun preset picture modes, decent video, nice flash, good (but, cheap-feeling) kit lens. Electronic viewfinder is a nice (though pricey) option. Imperfect menus and some cheap plastics are minuses as is limited battery life. Best feature: takes other lenses with adapter.
