This is such an amazing show - probably one of the best I've ever seen. It was very timely and reflected the politics of our time in a "future" setting. All characters were flawed and human; you couldn't help but root for them. Even the cylons developed into characters that at times made you wonder who was really "evil." An original show with great writing and great plot & character development.

Fantastic show all-around. Some of the most exciting episodes I've seen in tv. Though it changes later in the series, you'll be hooked by that point.

LOVE this show. Gritty, epic, great acting. And I'm not even that much of a sci-fi guy, never really got into Star Trek.

Incredible series with real characters running for their lives! The ending will have you scratching your head because everyone will have a different explanation - and yet it works!

One of my all-time favorites, but lost much of its magic in later seasons. In its prime, a gritty drama with memorable characters notable for its respect of the military. Later, slouched into a forced "who shot J.R." melodrama about discovering the hidden enemy within; and unfortunate watering down of main characters' admirable qualities. Finale was contrived but satisfying.

Everything that a sci-fi series should be - not only a spectacular show, but a powerful statement, graphically striking, created with taste, love and talent.

It's a show that is dealing with human shortcomings, with philosophy and ecology, without pushing them in your face. You can just enjoy the show.

I have bought all the seasons on DVD and think that every sci-fi fan should have them.

I watched this show over the course of a week the first time I discovered it a year ago. It's a very addictive show that takes place in space but deals with earthly themes.

Absolutely epic.
Cons: there are some filler episodes here and there, and the last season gets almost too bleak.
