Two episodes into this, the original BBC version, I turned to my husband and said, "WHY ON EARTH WOULD THEY REMAKE THIS?? It's clearly already perfect." It's a bit soapy, but also smart and well-written and well-acted. It's hugely enjoyable in every way, and I love all three of the main characters.

Best vampire show since Buffy. The guy who plays the werewolf does an amazing job. Overall the plots are interesting and occasionally poignant.
Cons: Sometimes a little too close to cliches and a little too far from mythological continuity.

The show's premise is quite interesting. It's rarely boring. Each episode has an engaging plot which never grows stale.
Cons: I have serious doubts about the U.S. remake.
