This show consumed much of my life for six years. Beyond its highs and lows as a TV show and story, what it accomplished in terms of harnessing and advancing transmedia storytelling can't be ignored. And it was filmed almost entirely on the island I live on. So much to love!
The plot is great , and then not great, but the character development and philosophies behind them is extremely strong. I felt like I understood the different approaches to the same problem very well and the production values were amazing with both island scenes, and normal-world. I even liked the 'bad seasons'.
The most ambitious show to ever be popular on broadcast television. Lost captivated fans with it's complex mystery only to disappoint in the end due to the inability to answer all of the shows questions. It succeeded despite this, and will go down in my mind as one of the greatest television shows ever.
Amazing in seasons 1 and 2. Lost (no pun intended) some momentum and regained in the next-to-last and last seasons, only to dissapoint me with a closure that I thought it was a bit silly. Anyways, very creative and ambitious show. Nothing quite close to it.
God, how I miss this show. It was my favorite program for years, and I'm still not sure I believe anything could ever beat it...athough Fringe is coming awfully close. Why aren't there more TV shows like this? You know, the ones that actually have a moving and imaginative story to tell?
Very well written and kept you coming back each week to get more answers, only to be left with more questions.
Cons: Must watch from the, very beginning and not miss an episode or you will miss important clues.
A ton of people were disappointed there weren't more answers in the final ending.
Terrific show. Mystery really draws the viewer in. Good at raising new questions that further pique the audience's interest. Fascinating backstory. I cannot wait for the last season.
Cons: Lots of characters can make the show a little tough to get into. Also, every time the show answers a question, it raises two or three more.
Extremely interesting and labyrinthine plot that is rewarding for fans of time travel, sci-fi enthusiasts, and anyone who sticks through it.
Cons: The writer's strike and studio pressure forced the producers to stretch things out in season 3, however the agreed series end date helped course correct in season 4.
If you remain committed to the concept, Lost delivers a well thought out and interesting show. It's picked up pace since Season 3 and literally hit the ground running.
Cons: Season 3 sharply dipped in quality and watching it became a chore. It's recovered greatly since.
