the movie has got a charactor which has been played by dr hannibal and anthony hopkins did it so well but on other hand judie foster proved her self that she has some guts to stand infront of an actor of anthony's caliber

Atmospheric, great performances, brilliant story, and downright one of the best films ever made.
Cons: I've never understood what anyone found scary about this movie. Maybe the scene with the night vision goggles, but I hardly think that qualifies it as a horror movie.

Thrilling and masterfully portrayed. Hopkins shines despite his brief screen appearances as the charismatic cannibal. Ted Levine plays Buffalo Bill with all of the creepiness of Ed Gein.
Cons: Take or leave Jodie Foster, this is about the minds of murderers.
