a beautifully shot and acted french coming-of-age film, set in the 1950s. based on, the director, François Truffaut's own life story. wikipedia notes: "Filmmakers Akira Kurosawa, Luis Buñuel, Jean Cocteau (and others) have cited The 400 Blows as one of their favorite movies. Kurosawa called it "one of the most beautiful films that I have ever seen""– i think so, too.
