my favourite movie. The Dude is very memorable character. His laid back attitude makes you feel so relaxed, almost as if you were him.

classic Cohen brothers flick...lots of twist and turns.....off the wall comedy with that signature Cohen brothers style. While I think that there are other Cohen brothers films that are better and less known this one still deserves its place among the best cult of films of all time.

THE cult classic. If you're a fan, you can hold entire conversations in lines from the film. Every line is quotable. There are thousands maybe millions of other fans like you. It's a carefully constructed parody of film noir, while at the same time a meditation on Gen X's hero- the slacker. Perfect movie.
Cons: Literally none.

The movie for which Jeff Bridges should have won the Best Actor Oscar. Contains the best writing of the Coen Brothers' stable. Sam Elliot's voice-over seals the deal. Gets better with each viewing.
Cons: Requires several viewings to gain a full appreciation, but it is well worth it.

Every single detail in this movie is stylized in a surly and psychedelic haze. Memorable characters. Great cinematography. Script delivers punch lines as well as real emotion.
Cons: Introduced nihilism to the masses. I have found some people just do not like anything about this movie.
