Well, Anthony Bordain's travel show is where you can see the live octopus eating.
But yeah, Oldboy is intense. The main twist is pretty guessable, but the final moments are utterly memorable.

It's beautiful that not everything is explicitly shown or explained. This isn't just about vengeance, the movie is much deeper than that.

Has everything: action, suspense, sex, dark humor, shocking twists, brutal violence and man eating live octopus.

South Korean hero/revenge journey movie everybody should see. Better than anything out of the US in the last 10-years

An absolutely chilling revenge tale with blood, mystery, and some rather dark humor.

Very interesting concept, plenty of twists and turns to keep you engaged. Certainly a thriller, not for the faint of heart.

Stunning film lead by a bravura performance from Choi Min-sik. Very dark, but surprising, involving and wonderfully executed.

Oldboy is a film that genuinely pulls off being shocking and surprising. I still remember the first time I watched it.

I have only seen one Korean movie. But boy am I glad it was Oldboy; amazing thriller.

There's a moment when the hero has to fight 15 bad guys. The staging is one of the most realistic depictions of how it would really look that you'll ever see. That scene sums up everything that is different and wonderful about this unconventional action/thriller/suspense/tragedy.

Hands down one of the best foreign action films around. See it before Spike Lee destroys it.

Awesome cinema, with one of the best twists rivaling even that of the Usual Suspects, topped off with great cinematography (fight sequence in the hallway) and a haunting soundtrack.

The second installment of The Vengeance Trilogy, shows that foreign films are still beyond their years compared to Western films. Highly, recommend checking out the other films from this"thrillogy"

Western thriller movies are so preoccupied with the twist dynamic of "look this way, surprise from that way" that it's become monotonous and hackneyed. Oldboy is a great example of a new classic thriller that delivers where Western movies have all but failed. Foreign cinema at its best.
Plus, where else are you gonna get to see someone eat a live octopus?

Very good movie, very creepy but it grabs your attention and refuses to let go.

Visually stunning. It's gruesome, but every time I see it, I don't think any moment is gratuitous and I wouldn't edit it any other way. So epic.
