Tense, frightening, atmospheric with that wonderful Kubrickian style, and performances that you won't soon forget. You will remember this movie for the rest of your days.
Cons: Some people criticize it for not following the book closely enough, but everything it changed was for the better, in my opinion. The things they dropped and left ambiguous make it that much creepier, and the inconsistenc...

One of my favorite movies.
Jack Nicholson is perfect in this film. The kid is awesome too.

One of the best known horror films, period. Great cast.
Cons: Some of the scariest parts of the book are missing (though probably because the effects needed to effectively create them weren't availible at the time)
