John Hughes really captures how the American High School Years are really a world unto themselves. Great soundtrack that really adds to both the film's pacing and placement in time.
Cons: When you think about it, Ferris Bueller is kind of a jerk. Principal Mooney is cartoonishly one-note; most adults in the movie come across as not terribly bright compared to the precocious teenagers.
