Forget who the moviemakers are, think about that part of your parents' house that you were convinced about was inhabited by trolls, kobolds or someting else that did not resemble your neigbours' cat, which in fact was what was behind the shadow that startled you.

This movie will yank back that acute feeling of magic being part of life, even in its ugliest moments. Not a movie, but an experience.

Guillermo del Toro! I would say that this movie is so great that you won't be able to diferentiate the real from the imaginary world. Beautiful movie!

This movie is very visual stunning and the heroine is a really admirable as a young girl but is a brave and strong character.

Very good movie. Yes, in another language. A very good fantasy/fairytale movie. Teaches about the history of Spain and that time period, what it was like. Leaves it open ended, making you wonder if it really happened, which at the same time adds more meaning to the story with what could have been happening all along which teaches about escapism and coping and childhood. Muy bien.

Bordering on the horror genre, this movie takes us into the mind of a little girl during the Spanish civil war, where we discover not all is innocent in the young mind. A great movie with wonderful effects, and a beautiful score.
