I've never been inside St. Patrick, but have walked down fifth avenue many times. There's some awe inspiring about seeing it bathed in spotlights at night, and marveling for a second at the sight of such a huge cathedral among the skyscrapers. The architecture is definitely also worth a visit (and that's from someone with no expertise of architecture by any means).
