a very clever movie with many great references. a group of stories surrounding, royal tenenbaum, a man who destroyed his family by divorce, later finds himself alone, desperate and aging, tries to reclaim the family he left, and ends up redeeming himself after being humbled. all of the characters have decades long unresolved issues from the divorce and are forced to deal with them.

The Royal Tenenbaums surpasses expectations.
A quirky extended family story with dry adult humour.
And the cast is just superb!

It's a wonderful film that does what it does so well, but unfortunately just can't quite find the right ending. It sort of coasts over the finish line. Still great, and definitely recommended if you enjoy Wes Anderson's style.

This is one of my favourite movies - a self-contained world following a dysfunctional family, with one of Anderson's most popular tropes: absent fathers.

I didn't know this existed till last week when i sat down with my wife, a chinese takeaway, and whacked on Sky Anytime . It doesn't rely much around a strong storyline, but moreso the individual characters narratives within the film. it's truly magical and bloody hilarious. i can't wait to watch it again.

I have no idea when this movie is taking place. each character is fantastic. delightfully two-dimensional. to put it simply... very Wes Anderson-esque.
Cons: knowing I will never have kids as awesome as Uzi and Auri.
