Solid performances by Mark Wahlberg and Christian Bale, very good character development based on a true story. It's centered around a boxing story so does have a good amount of fight scenes, but they aren't overwhelming if that's not your thing. Overall a solid flick and worth a watch.

I am a huge boxing fan. I loved all of the Ward/Gatti fights, they were truly epic battles. I have clearly been hiding under rocks because during all the award buzz around this film I didn't place that the film was based on Micky Ward. Can't wait to see it.

Great film, loved all the dumpy sisters just for the trailer trash factor they brought, lending to the rising-from-the-ashes/ Phoenix theme. Loved Christian Bale in this, and the boxing scenes were awesome! Good soundtrack.
