Do you like wikipedia but don't like the fact that you have to read? This is the answer to all your woes!! Qwiki turns the first paragraph of wikipedia entries into a narration that is then read on top of a slideshow of images on the subject.
Qwiki is a platform that creates interactive, on-the-fly, multimedia presentations of information. Its co-founders are entrepreneur Doug Imbruce and Louis Monier, founder of the AltaVista search engine.
Just installed this app and i'm already hooked. Loads of features and info. The feature which really enhances the whole experience of Qwiki is the landmark finder - it searches the top landmarks closest to your location, highlights them on a map and, if tapped, provides you with info, audio and video - looking forward to use this feature during my travels - beats the old guide-book!
Its "information experience" is definitely a wow factor. The fact that its software puts the entire experience together gives it even more wow. Cons: Don't see how it could be used for anything besides test cramming
