I was an early adopter in Guatemala, back in 2006. Took me a while to enjoy it and connect with users, but 19, 000 + tweets later, it`s part of almost everyday communication for me.

Twitter knows- "Less is more". If the only thing you want to do on social site is to "socialize" with people with the same interests, then go on Twitter.

I love twitter. It's my favorite social networking service. They don't change their layout and UI every other week, but when they do change it, it actually feels like an improvement.

I love twitter but I love it as a utility, I fear that in twitter's effort to figure out how to make money off it, they will reduce its usefulness and alienate the developers that have helped make it successful.

I hardly need to recommend Twitter, because it's not like it's unknown, but I'm doing a debate on the topic of whether it's trash or not and I've been reminded of just how amazing and just how useful a communication tool it actually is.

Social Broadcasting, powerful, extremely useful if who you're following is optimized, Ease of use, quick, concise, extensible, nothing beats instant real-time information.
Cons: Spam, annoying ReTweets, bots, impersonations, fake accounts.

Easy to use,i do agree that the 140 character limit makes people think about what they type, if it's that important use twitlonger an app for twitter.
Cons: Not any good enough twitter trends, doesn't let you see what's trending in japan or korea.

Social only in the sense that whatever you say on the site is broadcast to your followers. Has made @[username] into a common usage of replying to a comment. You can keep up with people.
Cons: Twitter is only as fun or exciting as you make it. That means that if you are following no one, no one is following you, and you do not tweet, you will probably hate it.

Everyone's on Twitter, even the average joe. Huge developer community building many great apps and mashups for the Twitter platform.
Cons: No IM interface.
