A fast paced chess game, battle of wits, tactics and brain speed coordination. battlenet matches people up very well so you should always have a close fight

An absolutely phenomenal follow-up to one of the most beloved games of all time. Plenty of new units, and though the multiplayer is still the same bread-and-butter of the previous installments (not that that's a bad thing), it adds tons of new wrinkles to the single-player campaign.

Fantastic Single player Campaign, Excellent replayability with lots of Achievements and Challenges, and a competent multiplayer experience for both Casual and Hardcore, Great Spectator esport with tournaments offering hundreds of thousands in cash.

There's a growing scene of professional Starcraft II players. Just go to youtube and watch a match between Idra and Huk, it's a lot more fun then it sounds. It also doesn't hurt that Starcraft II is an excellent game worthy of the Starcraft title.

I play many many games, and rarely do I get addicted, but this one did it for me. Since day 1 release, I've been playing on battle.net trying to climb the ranks. As frustrating as it is to lose, it has a great replay function where even losing really helps you improve. Resource management, scouting, and solid micro-ing is key to success.

There is a reason this game has a huge following. If you like RTSs, this is the best one. The 3 races are very different yet gameplay is very balanced. You could spend years studying all the strategies in this but it's also fun to play as an amateur (against other amateurs).

It's Starcraft! The best competitive online in gaming, but the single player is robust enough that it can be played for an almost infinite amount of time. If you like RTSs at all, you should own this.

An exceptional game from Blizzard. It can be extremely fun to play in an even matched game or very stressing whilst under constant preasure from a potent enemy. Very recommended if you're looking for a great action, almsot stressing RTS. The game is very balanced for 1v1 matches but the 2v2 or higher can end in minutes due to everyone rushing one person.

It's starcraft for a new generation. Strategy and teamwork are key to victory. It's like high speed chess.
Cons: You can't make a living playing it in the USA
