Very intense film, moving music, wonderful acting. John Cazale acted in this film and died shortly afterwards - all 5 films he worked on were nominated for Academy Award for best picture.

I've heard about this movie forever and never actually saw it. I just did. Parts are intense, but most are just unrealistic. The movie is "supposed" to be about Vietnam (it isn't), but is actually about personal toughness and the arbitrariness of life. Some good acting, but not as great as history has made it out to be (for me anyway).

Phenomenal, intense, frightening and powerful movie. Incredible acting from De Niro, Walken, Streep and that guy that was Al Pacino's brother in The Godfather...
