Pros: It's short. It's well written. It's had new words (I had to look up). At least now I'm ready for the new film.
Cons: While it may be a classic, in the end I felt: "Who cares?" Rich white people in the 1920's. Again, who cares?

Beautifully written and acts as a social commentary on the inability to obtain the American given the morals and behaviours of the American 1920's. Wonderful symbolism and development of characters.
Cons: Several people will not enjoy the writing style, and some other might not fully understand the motifs and symbolism, or simply not enjoy those types of books. It's just not everyone's cup of...
