An amazing addition to Murakami's large list of publications. He again adeptly fuses the fantastic (the mystery of the Little People) and the mundane (specific ingredients for a dish that a character prepares for dinner), all within the stories of parallel lives. A long read, but one definitely worth putting careful time into; if the volume is too large, just note how well-designed the book is!

I spent a good portion of the book annoyed by Murakami's misunderstanding and horrible misrepresentation of Jehovah Witnesses. Other than that, it was a good read.
