Michael Lewis has a great ability of portraying the characters involved in creating the market for mortgage bonds.

A pretty entertaining read. Not as entertaining as "Ugly Americans" by Ben Mezrich, but I'm also learning more about actual investing.

Excellent look at Wall Street based on the authors time at Solomon. Well paced and engrossing, makes for a quick read.

The Scarface of financial industry stories. Beautifully written, and now enjoys cult-like status in the very same industry that it eloquently exposed.

A classic story about Wall Street in the 80s. Lewis' excellent writing makes this feel like a novel even though it is (mostly?) true.

strong portrayal of characters - set up like an extended joke with a description of one prank after the next - it makes for entertaining reading
Cons: - but doesn't pull it together with a 'so what' -- He has since said that he thought this was a deviation - not the beginning of moving investment firms to even more short sighted practices driven by greed
