It could've been the recipe (especially if it were a chocolate cake with chocolate frosting and chocolate candy coating). Definitely give them another go! Maybe make them yourself, they aren't too difficult.

So much fun! All you do is bake a cake, let it cool, break it all up into pieces and mix it with one jar of frosting. Form it into balls, stick it on sticks (found them at Michael's) and dip in candy coating (they also had that at Michael's). I made these for an Easter brunch - a pastel assortment - and stuck them upright in styrfoam sticking out of an Easter basket. Huge hit!

Cute AND yummy. And just enough to indulge a craving without going hogwild!

I had these a few days ago at a party. I don't know if it was just the recipe that the person used or what, but it was SOOO chocolaty. Now I am not saying that is a bad thing, but I found it hard to eat more than one.

Looks cool! And probably yummy. And easy to eat. And funky. And convenient for a cocktail party. Ok I am sold!

Met a cute girl in a bar last month who was celebrating her friend's birthday with these. Delicious & fun (the cake pops, not the girl...)

Saw these at a wedding I went to recently. They were definitely a hit among the guests. Disappeared very quickly.

I love pretty much any food on a stick - popsicles, fondue, corndogs, pigs in a blanket, chicken satay... So, I'm pretty excited to see that someone invited cake to the party.

When you are thinking of the next dessert to prepare, give cake pops a go. They are delicious! You can also buy Bakerella's Cake Pops cookbook in stores or on amazon: www.amazon.com/Cake-Pops-Tricks-Recipes-Irresistible/dp/0...

They are very good. You can use whatever cake you like and choose flavored candy coatings too. Mine have turned out quite well!
