I didn't consider myself a "serious gamer" until I played this game. Mass Effect 2 got me on the couch playing for hours on end, not to mention emotionally invested in the story. Beautiful graphics, great gameplay and stunning use of story and characters to really get you into the game. Can't wait for the third and final installment!
Part two of BioWare's science fiction epic.
Easily an improvement upon where the first game left off, this time around audiences find Commander Shepard serves as an agent for the Cerberus company who have courted him to fight against the Reapers pawns, the Collectors.
Again, this massive universe is incredibly written with each character's back story captivating.
A must play. Can't wait for 3.
I didn't think it would be possible to top the first Mass Effect for quality of storytelling and worldbuilding, yet BioWare delivered. Quality of the downloadable additional content also very high, especially _Lair of the Shadow Broker_. And if the quality of a game is to be judged by how much it makes you want to play the sequel, this is the best I've ever played.
am relatively new to this franchise as I only own a ps3--really enjoyable game, and much better than bioware's other franchise "dragon age" which i don't really care for that much. Would have been nice to play the original mass effect 1 before jumping into this one though. a lot of backstory to catch up on and be confused by
I just can't get enough BioWare, and this title is no exception. This developer's strongsuit is definitely storytelling, mixed in with a healthy dose of firepower and elegant level design.
Cons: Final boss is a little silly, but the mission context surrounding the last battle is truly epic. Worst part of this game is putting it down after you've finished; but replay value is great!
Revamped combat system makes it more shooter than RPG. Exclusive talents gives each class their own trump card. Credits and mined resources actually serve a purpose.
Cons: The planet scanning is a bit tedious. Sometimes the context sensitive controls can work against you. Feels a lot more linear than the first game.
