The main building hosts historic art pieces from all over the world including various parts of Asia, Europe, and the Americas, as well as modern pieces from the early and mid 20th century. The new modern art building hosts contemporary pieces. I can't say the Nelson is the best museum in the world but I know it's a fine one. Kansas City is proud to have it.
