The simplest cloud storage system. I've been using this for work and private use for a couple of years now and it is indispensable!

Versioned backups of all my data (I have a pro account). I never have to think about 'what happens if device X gets lost/stolen/broken'. Easy to transfer files to other people. Used it for about a year now, rock-solid, no complaints.
jessald recommended this 1 year, 6 months ago
If data doesn't exist in more than one place, it doesn't exist. If you don't believe me, you will someday. This is a great tool that just works. Also good for easily sharing stuff with a few people.
arcaisha recommended this 1 year, 6 months ago
I love Dropbox. I am forced by my school to run Windows on my Mac, and it's so much easier than emailing files back and forth. I can also keep photographs, TV shows, movies, whatever I care about on here :)
anajmuddin recommended this 1 year, 6 months ago
Makes my life so much easier, especially when I'm running around between home, the library, and school all the time. Think of it as a virtual, cloud-based flashdrive - for free. Pure awesomeness.
solipse recommended this 1 year, 7 months ago
I have no doubt that, without Dropbox, my life would fall to a heap of rubble within a matter of days; I honestly don't know how I ever lived without it. Dropbox is an example of a perfectly executed service.

I use Dropbox almost everyday for school. It's super easy and free. You can access files in a certain folder on your computer anywhere.

Dropbox is easy to use, autonomous, intuitive, and accessible from nearly any platform. Greatest cloud utility out there. Period.

This is the best way to back up files and access them on the go. It has completely replaced my USB drive.

I don't know what I'd do without DropBox. Oh, well I suppose I would keep lugging around my laptop and ensuring I have a thumb drive on me at all times to ensure I have all my work and school files with me when working on different computers. Runs in the background and hasn't given me any trouble. LOVE IT.

Cloud storage service accessible via the web or on your computer when you install the dropbox app/folder. Once installed, it resides in your PC/laptop like any other folder. Drop a file in the dropbox folder, and it gets synced to your cloud storage, easy!
HJDRTaylor recommended this 1 year, 9 months ago
Dropbox, to me, is a warm and trusted embrace. A voice which says to one, "you're always welcome here," or, at times, "I'll be here when you need help the most."
The mechanics of file storage utilized by Dropbox are very easily incorporated into one's routine; the seamless integration into the operating system's file storage is wonderful and fascinatingly novel (to this observer).
Yes.

A no-effort way to automatically backup your most important files, and to access them from any network-connected computer. The free plan is generous enough for day-to-day use.

dasr recommended this 1 year, 9 months ago
It's simple, easy, and it doesn't fuck up ever. It even keeps both versions when you edit it on multiple computers simultaneously.
Paid subscription is more expensive than I'm willing to pay.

Awesome app! I use this to share photos of my daughter with family through my droid phone (screw the iPhone). As soon as I upload a photo to the service it's available on any other system that has Dropbox installed (as long as I grant permission to the folder). What I love about this app is that the more desktops/laptops/phones you install it on the more space they give you (up to 8 GB).
robwil recommended this 1 year, 10 months ago
Can't beat it. The "Previous Versions" feature which saves old versions of files has saved me a bunch of times. Although the Pro version is a bit pricey at $99/year, it is worth it because then you can sync things like your iTunes library and photos. The more I store on my Dropbox, the more I feel like a hard drive malfunction wouldn't faze me.

I like to write, by my job keeps me away from my laptop for days at a time. So I do a lot of work on my phone. Drop box automatically syncs my files between my laptop and my phone, no wires needed. And thats just the unimaginative use.

Free cross-platform online-storage that's great for syncing files across computers (i.e.: work desktop with home laptop). Lightweight, easy to use, and works efficiently in the background. Also useful when you're working on a project with a team so that you all have the same versions of the files. I'm in love with Dropbox.
