one of the most famous and prolific 'coming of age' books i've ever read. J.D Salinger employs excellent language and characterisation throughout. i was so into it i read it in one sitting !

Although the book is excellent, the people who carry it around with them, claiming that Salinger wrote it especially for them, tend to be less than savory.

Very good book, unorthodox, and you have probably never read a book like it.
Cons: The stream of consciousness style may be hard to follow. The protagonist just tells it as he thinks it.
