We need to rethink our definition of education and shift it from merely preparing to make a living to preparing to contribute to the communities we belong to.

If you don't know what the TED talks are I recommend you go to www.ted.com to spend some time watching video's like these. They are topics ranging from Technology, Education, and Design. A ton of interested topics from very well spoken individuals.

This was the first TED talk I watched online and it remains one of my favorite. It is simply inspirational.
Cons: Finding the right people to add momentum to this idea.

Very helpful in showing where the problem comes from, where creativity comes from, and how we teach using the wrong methods, period.
Cons: The very problem he talks about IS what the education system is built on. We may need to revamp the entire thing to alleviate it. It's also cultural, which makes it even harder to change.

Humorous yet inspirational. Robinson perfectly pinpoints the fundamental flaws of our current education system & how it does not effectively allow a student to dig deep into their creative capacities.
Cons: 1. Parents haven't seen it yet. 2. There's a lot of work to do to nurture the right side of the brain instead of just memorizing and regurgitating.
