Saw the teaser trailer for the new film adaption (starring Gary Oldham and Colin Firth) coming out later this year and was inspired to reread what some consider Le Carre's masterpiece. The book is slow, plodding, methodical, and is all the better because of these traits. Once you enter the event horizon you're pulled down a rabbit hole into the drab ordinariness that drives humans to commit evil.
