This along with The Sopranos helped transform HBO from movie provider to the place for must see TV.

Six Feet Under will make you see how fragile human life is, and not just in the finite terms of life. It chronicles love, friendship, talent, work, psyche, and many other topics.

Characters will frequently fall in and out of your liking, but by the series end you'll recognize how you'll miss them.

This is my favorite series and I have yet to watch another that tops it. The writing and the acting are both excellent; you get really attached to the characters. I actually cried at the last episode- ha!

Top-notch writing from start to finish. One of the few shows I feel has truly dealt with the topic of mortality both thoroughly and with great compassion.
Cons: It had to end!

Well written and acted. Worth watching all the episodes.
Cons: The episode where David is kidnapped is very freaky. You may want to skip that one.
