Plus: solid recommendation for health - eat less flesh (meat, fish, fowl and dairy). Cons: we are culturally and genetically programmed to eat flesh. We like the taste of flesh. The problem: the remarkably sudden (last 100 yrs) advent of wide-spread refrigeration and abundance of flesh for consumption.
We are in that time of humanity in wich we need to read books to LEARN how to EAT. Funny, but true. This book is well written, researched and is not trying to sell a thing. Read this if you ever wondered weather the "typical" American diet was really good for you or if it was just as good as a gummy bear and pretzel smoothie.
A solid argument for minimizing if not eliminating animal protein in the diets of human beings. Cons: Few will listen. It's so much easier to eat that cheeseburger now and put future colon cancer out of your mind.
