Humanity without hope is a terrible thing. Though it's not the aim, the vivid depiction of a Britain besieged by desperate refugees evokes the possible (likely?) consequences of global climate change.
Cons: So much time is spent tearing down social order and blasting human frailty that what hope we are given feels like an afterthought.
