If you enjoyed the movie, try reading the book. Same basic story but told from the perspective of Arctor himself. It's a great dive into the mind of an addict.

An undercover cop that's forced to snitch on himself. Dick really understands the dark side of how we wrestle with who we really are.

The movie doesn't come close. Vividly, sympathetically depicts a downward spiral and brain-damage from drug abuse. Full of amusing, provocative details.
Cons: It was a downer for me.

Awesome storyline and the movie has a star-studded cast. Visually hypnotic all the time.
Cons: In the film, Reeves fails to draw any intrigue... as usual.

Cons: Themes of drug use and insanity are not for everyone.
