We deployed Wordpress to serve as a network of small sites, each with their own theme or objective. I really like the child theming process and find it quite easy to use. Wordpress doesn't scale as well as Drupal if you have to manage a large group of users or content with many unique fields.

Easy to set up and use right out of the box. Doesn't require a background in coding to do most things. Good SEO optimization. Tons of plugins available for anything under the sun
Cons: Tons of plugins, not all of them good or well coded. Default settings not suitable for high-traffic sites. Hard to customize extensively or extend beyond the basic blog format
