This site continues to be worth checking in on. Comments are just as informative and fun as the writing itself.
Cons: Must do a lot of browsing sometimes over stories I'm not l33t enough to even understand.

If you dock humor by one and filter out everything but the 5- and 4- score, you have an excellent chance of reading some insightful or informative commentary.
Cons: In-jokes can get tired and obscure. Goatse. Humor gets upvoted higher than it usually merits.

The content is interesting, and the conversations in the comments often reveal more than the articles do.
Cons: Slashdot often picks up news that is several days old.

It's everyone's favorite nerd blog from the 1990s...
Cons: A bit slow to get the 'news'. Frequent typos, and frequently sensational instead of informational.
