Writers, scientists - all people working with some data and/or ideas have always had something to scribble on. They had to lug it with them though or memorize it.

Today we all work with data whether we like it, or notice it or not, and the amount of it is huge. I refuse to forget the first words of my daughter, in order to remember what size shoes in which store I have to buy her.

I'm not sure how I survived before evernote. One place for all my random notes/lists, synched across all devices. Best feature is the OCR on photos. Lifesaver.

My life went digital due to this program. I have scanned all important papers, recipes, business cards etc. I also have all good recipes here and so on. I love this application.

The best app for capturing and keeping certain important docs. All are saved as notebooks. My to-do list, my christmas shopping, important documents I can access on my iphone, ipad and mac. Saves me from having multiple apps and you can try it since there is a FREE version!!!

Perfect for storing information on and off the web. Uses range from important to just for fun:

- remembering a type of scotch or tequila
- having a searchable field to find that photo of a customers drawing from a dinner meeting.

Evernote is my filing cabinet. I capture all the documents, presentations, white papers, notes, reminders, manuals, how-tos, and scans of a busy professional and personal life. I encrypt sensitive documents before storage and use a flexible tagging system for retrieval. The powerful search functionality returns hits on tags or contents of non-encrypted documents. Highly recommended.

Great way to sync all your notes, web clippings, and jots to the cloud. With a mobile application, one has constant access to one's digital notebooks and musings. Great application.

Provides a simple but powerful UI to keep notes and sync them between devices. I use Evernote to record almost anything I might need to find again.
Cons: No note-to-note links.

Evernote's so great it doesn't have cons, at least in my case. It helps me organize all important (and to be sorted) info I'm getting from the net for my masters dissertation.
Cons: None.

Fantastic app - works across mobile and desktop, mac or pc. Use it daily for saving media files.
Cons: Not so good for day to day tasks or to-do's.
