This is in front of my apartment so I sort of have to go to it regardless of whether or not I need anything. Great farmers market! Lots of free samples. I don't think it is that pricey. The things that are expensive are pricey (i.e. wild mushrooms, artisan breads and cheeses), but normal produce is a comparable price for organic produce anywhere else.
These guys have everything - maple cotton candy, lush frilly parrot tulips, people who don't appear to have day jobs. Always a good show as I walk through at lunchtime. Seriously though, the maple cotton candy is awesome.
This is the best place to get farm fresh food in the city. Spring you will see people going crazy for ramps, summer is a bounty of amazing fruits and veggies, fall is when the squash starts to appear, and winter is all potatoes and apples (not the best season). You can also find artesian honey & bread as well as locally grown flowers & plants. Get there early because it does get pretty crowded!
