The shepherd in the photo with the sloped back is not a healthy representaton of a German Shepherd. Back should be straight and hips certified.

Best dog ever! Wicked smart, loyal, protective, and thrives on pleasing it's people. But probably not for the first time dog owner as they need a strong pack leader.

My favourite dog. They are extremely intelligent, get very close to you, highly sensitive.

I love all breeds, but the German shepherd is a dog's dog. Had a GS/black lab mix years ago.
Cons: Other people and their preconceived notions/fears.

Exceptionally smart dogs. Shows like Ren-Ten-Ten exploited that fact.
Cons: Can be smelly and they shed. I suggest brushing their teeth.
