The very definition of love, and joy, and readiness . You must match their energy (e.g. 2 hrs run every day rain or shine); you MUST NOT break their hearts ; you must give them mental work to do; and you must fence or supervise them. Females are strong willed, some are just silly, all remember the names of many objects and commands. Get a rescue unless you're going to train them on sheep.

I have 3 Border Collies with 3 puppies at 4 weeks old. I am amazed how intelligent they are at birth. I have trained my Collies with sign language. They are the most loving, affectionate, caring and creative intelligence. They simply love to play..they will wear your children out playing.

had a mix with this breed. Amazing pets and extremely lovable.
Cons: will outsmart you to get what they want.

Best dog i ever had by far. Great family dog, keeps the kids entertained and rounded up. Great dog tto keep owners in shape and smart.
Cons: Smarter than the average owner! Arghhhhhhh.....

excellent, smart, energetic, loving dogs, clever, gets you moving and keeps you moving
Cons: They never tire, OCD tendencies, will herd everything, tends to be aggressive towards strangers and anything with wheels i.e chasing cars

Very gorgeous when they run. Probably perfect for you if you have a farm.
